Two dead in Vargas Island plane crash

The Transportation Safety Board says bad weather is one of the possibilities they’re looking at as they try to find the cause of a fatal plane crash near Tofino.

Two men were killed when the twin engine Cessna went down on Vargas Island Saturday (Dec. 14), after leaving Abbotsford on the final leg of a flight from Lethbridge to Tofino

The victims were 51 year-old Jurrie and 25 year-old Mike Van Den Berg of Picture Butte Alberta.

TSB investigators say it appears the plane exploded after a  high-speed impact.
