Heritage Days set to go Sunday

If you head into the downtown area of Nanaimo Sunday, you may encounter temporary street and lane closures.
But this time, it’s not because of a movie shoot, it’s for the annual Heritage Days parade.
Peter Urquhart of the Friends of the Heritage Society, says when the call for participants went out, organizers were overwhelmed….
The parade starts around one o’clock at Victoria Crescent, will wind its way through the downtown and end at Maffeo Sutton Park.

Urquhart says activities at the Park and Diana Krall Plaza will go from 10 to 5……

The activities are all a part of Heritage Days in Nanaimo, which, despite the name, is held on just one day this year.
