Nanaimo’s Number Station One Firehall, on Fitzwilliam Street will be replaced at a cost of 17 million dollars.
That’s after the City’s Committee of the Whole heard from Stuart Rothnie of HCMA Architecture and Design that the current building and its systems are in bad shape….
Rothnie says a new building will have lower daily operating costs than the old one.
Construction is expected to start next year and be done in about a year and a half.
