The Sunshine Coast Regional District is hoping to get a couple of local government advocacy groups on side with concerns about coal shipments.
Under a plan to ship more coal through Fraser Surrey Docks barges would go to Texada Island for loading onto larger ships.
Citizens groups, the Sechelt First Nation and the SCRD are worried about health and environmental impacts.
