Canada’s new finance minister is getting the full support of his local caucus colleagues.
Toronto MP Joe Oliver will move from Natural Resources to Finance to replace Jim Flaherty, who resigned Tuesday.
And West Vancouver, Sunshine Coast MP John Weston says Oliver’s experience at Natural Resources will stand him in good stead as Finance Minister.
Weston and fellow Conservative MP James Lunney of Nanaimo Alberni also have high praise for the retiring Flaherty. Lunney says he leaves a tremendous record of accomplishment.
