Nanaimo man facing possession of stolen property charges

A Nanaimo man has a court date next month for possession of stolen property. He was arrested March 08, 2014 by Nanaimo RCMP. They were called just after 2:00am by a homeowner on Hammond Bay Rd, who has noticed a person acting suspiciously near his house.

With the help of a police dog, Nanaimo RCMP found the suspect. The suspect has break and enter instruments and numerous items believed to have been stolen from residents in the area, like a digital camera, mobile power pack, hydraulic jack, gas cans, cell phones, sunglasses and various garden tools.

The suspect was released from custody and will be appearing in Nanaimo Provincial Court on April 08, 2014.

Nanaimo RCMP are asking residents in the North end of Nanaimo, in the Hammond Bay area, to check their outdoor sheds or garages to see if they have had items stolen.  If you have serial numbers or can identify the stolen items, call Cst. Anitra Berry at 250-754-2345.
