The latest news from the Colliery Dams Technical Committee suggets the dams may be in better shape than previously thought.
Committee Facilitator John McCormick says results from core samples of the lower dam by the engineering firm Golder Associates show no signs of deterioration.
McCormick says the Techincal Committee is hoping to make recommendations on how to get the dams fully up to standard by the end of April. They’re also due to release some more information at next week’s Nanaimo City Council meeting.
