A knife-wielding man robbed a woman near the intersection of Bowen Rd and East Wellington Rd. It happened at about 1:00am on Thursday, March 6. The 53-year-old woman was walking to her car after finishing work at the TD Bank on Bowen Rd when she was robbed. Constable Gary O’Brien says the suspect demanded her purse so she handed it over and the man ran off.
O’Brien says the suspect is described as slim, between 5 ft 10 and 5 ft 11, and was dressed all in black. The knife was 10-15 cms with some holes in it. If anyone has information on this incident, please contact the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
