The Snaw-naw-as First Nation north of Nanaimo, is getting 75-thousand dollars from the province.
The one-time grant is going to be used to buy equipment and pay for worker training for a band-run landscaping business.
It’s also part of a promise the government made to help Snaw-naw-as with maintaining the Craig Bay provincial heritage site, which includes an important burial ground for the First Nation.
Chief David Bob says it’s also going to help create employment and new opportunities for band members.
