Berth closure means changes to Langdale – HSB ferry schedule

BC Ferries says it’s shutting down the main berth at Langdale Saturday (March 1) and that’s going to mean a change in schedule.

They need to do some work on a “dolphin pad”; one of the big bumpers the ship rests against.

They’re switching to Berth 2 for the day, but the berth has no upper ramp.  Deborah Marshall of BC Ferries says that means it’s going to take longer to load and unload because they’ll have to use the ship’s internal ramps.

The plan is to put a bit more time between sailings.  The first trip out of Langdale will still be 6:20am, but the last return from Horseshoe Bay is going to be 10:15pm.

Marshall says they chose to do the work Saturday because the tides will be right and there’s usually less traffic.
