MLA Nicholas Simons says a thick cloud of worry is hanging over the heads of some of his constituents this summer.
That’s after the province gave Lehigh Hansen a license of occupation to investigate the possiblity of a gravel pit at Desolation Sound.
Simons says the company has a large operation in Sechelt, contributes to many charities and adds significant economic benefits to the community.
But, he says, Desolation Sound is no place for the sights, sounds, traffic, and impacts of industrial gravel extraction.
