Island Health confirms norovirus outbreak at NRGH

Flu season is winding down, but norovirus continues to spread in the community.

Island Health has confirmed an outbreak at Nanaimo Regional General and is waiting for tests after cases of a gastrointestinal illness at the Duferin Place care home. Visitors are being asked to take voluntary precautions.

Island Health is also dealing with outbreaks at facilities in Port Alberni, Campbell River, Courtenay and Victoria.

Vancouver Coastal Health is not reporting any norovirus, or other outbreaks, at facilities on the Sunshine Coast.
