The Sunshine Coast Regional District is officially authorized to borrow to $5 million, over a 30-year term for the Chapman Lake Expansion Project.
Gail Nielson, a resident of Area E is not happy with the SCRD and she says the money should be used elsewhere.
Neilson feels the expansion project will hurt the coast in the long run.
SCRD Director Lorne Lewis is expressing some concerns surrounding the entire project.
The next step for the expansion project is to get approval from the provincial government and then expansion is expected to be done the end of summer next year.
