It’s hard to settle into a community when you are living in a hotel or any form of temporary housing.
A new pool of money administered by United Way Central and Northern Vancouver Island will subsidize permanent housing for government sponsored Syrian refugees.
The 15,000 dollars comes from the Nanaimo Foundation.

To date Nanaimo has welcomed 11 government assisted refugees from Syria and 10 more families are expected to arrive in the coming months.
