3 police cruisers damaged

RCMP have laid a variety of charges after 3 of their cruisers were rammed around 8:45 last night (Thurs).
It all started when police went to follow up a report of a stolen motorcycle on Anders Road, a stolen pick up truck in the driveway rammed the police cruiser repeatedly until the suspect could drive out of the driveway.
A nearby canine unit came to assist but the same driver used the truck to ram that vehicle, struck a hedge and power pole, before driving off.
An unmarked police cruiser caught up to the, now slightly disabled truck on the Parkway, and followed it to a home on Aulds Road where, again the driver rammed the vehicle in an effort to escape.
Eventually, the police dog was deployed and the suspect, 26-year-old, Jordan Plamondon, of Parksville, who is known to police, suffered a dog bite during the arrest.
One police officer suffered a minor injury and was treated and released from hospital.
Damage to the police vehicles is estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
