There has been some confusion in the community about the Chapman Lake Water Supply Expansion Project and SCRD wants to help clear things up.
Angie Legault with the SCRD says they’re currently in an Alternative Approval Process and if the APP doesn’t go through, the project is still going forward.
Gary Nohr says if the APP is approved, they’ll be allowed to pay back the five million dollar loan in 30 years rather paying for it all at once.
During the SCRD Board meeting, additional funding of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars for further environmental assessment work related to the Chapman Lake Expansion Project was approved.
And the results of the APP will be provided to the public at the next SCRD Board meeting on July 28th.
