Gas tax funding makes projects happen

A full contingent of officials were on hand to announce gas tax funding for a variety of projects in the Nanaimo region as well as the Cowichan Valley.

The RDN got 6 million dollars worth of funding for the nearly complete marine outfall replacement project.
Veenhof says the money from the feds means taxpayers in the District will save 400,000 dollars a year over the next 20 years….
Seven new infrastructure projects were announced in all.
They included 5 million dollars for a water treatment plant upgrade for the Town of Lake Cowichan and 6 million dollars for a wastewater outfall project in Duncan/North Cowichan.
