Canada Day celebrations in Nanaimo will kick off Friday morning at 11 in Maffeo Sutton Park.

Parking at Maffeo Sutton Park will not be available, except for those who need a handicapped stall.
City meters will be free of charge for two hours and many of the parkades will be offering free parking.
But it may not be easy getting a spot, as many as 10,000 people attend the annual celebration.
