Province moves east Island to Level 4 Drought

Low river levels on southern Vancouver Island has lead to angling closures and more calls for water conservation.

Manager of Water Stewardship Valerie Cameron says level 4 is the highest of the drought levels…

Manager of Fisheries Mike Ramsey says streams on the south island are closed to angling because of the low water levels and high water temperatures.

He says there will be a few exceptions for rivers fed by reservoirs…

The fishing closures will come into effect July 1st and continue through the summer.
