House prices on the rise on the Coast

The Sunshine Coast is included in the Royal LePage 2016 Canadian Recreational Housing Report.
According to that report, housing prices on the coast have increased significantly because the demand is outpacing the supply.

John McKenzie is a realtor with Royal LePage Sussex on the Sunshine Coast and says people from all over the world are coming here to buy property….

The report says the average household income on the coast is just over 86 thousand dollars, but the average price for a non-water-front cabin is $400,000.

McKenzie feels the hot housing market is good for the Sunshine Coast because it’s it helps with growth and development of the coast.

He says 240 lots have been sold here since January at a median price of 189,000 dollars.
