The Town of Gibsons is taking another step towards adopting a new Smoking Control bylaw.
Andre Boel, Director of Planning for the Town of Gibsons and he says they had the third reading for their proposed smoking bylaw and right now they’re waiting for approval from the Ministry of Health.
Once it gets approved by the Ministry of Health, then it will go back to council for adoption.
As a part of the bylaw, people won’t be allowed to smoke 7.5 metres within any public parks, trail, and beaches.
He says electronic cigarettes are included in the bylaw as well.
