A cougar is on the prowl in Gibsons.
Dean Miller is a conservation officer on the Sunshine Coast and he says they’ve received four cougar sighting reports from the public within the last week.
Miller says these cougars typically prey on urbanized deer and anyone who finds a deer kill should quickly leave the area and report it immediately.
Dogs should also be leashed when they’re out for walks and if someone run into a cougar, they should never turn their backs to the cat and should attempt to walk away slowly.
