Quake simulator in Sechelt

Bill Elsner, Emergency Program Coordinator with the SCRD says although there hasn’t been a major earthquake here in recent memory, people should still prepare.

Elsner is offering some advice on what people should do to better prepare for an earthquake.

Tomorrow (June 7th) people will get a chance to see what an 8.0-magnitude earthquake feels like as the ‘Quake Cottage’ simulator make its way to the Raven’s Cry Theatre Parking Lot in Sechelt. They’ll be there from 11 in the morning until 5pm.

Elsner says there’s a misconception where people think they’ll be able to run to safety during a major earthquake, which is not true.
