The president of the union local that represents City of Nanaimo staff is confident his organization will be consulted about the recommendations in a Core Services Review.
Blaine Gurrie he has met with the City’s CAO and the lines of communication are open…..
Gurrie says the union was not dissatisfied with the Review, but there are some recommendations they don’t agree with.
They include laying off 4 prison guards, closing the Beban Park pool for 3 months in the summer, instead of one and handing the Harewood Community Centre to a community group.
