Tomorrow (Saturday) is the first day of Safe Boating Awareness Week and Jack Adams, the Commander of the Sunshine Coast Power & Sail Squadron says they’ll be hosting a couple of free events throughout the day.
They’ll be setting up at the Gibsons Marina and will be doing a recreational vessel courtesy check to help people make sure that they have the proper safety equipment.
There’s also a flare return program at the The Bitter End Boater’s Exchange in Gibson. Adams says they only do this once a year.
Adams says they’re usually there until 2 or 3pm every year.
