Nanaimo Council facing votes on controversial issues

Nanaimo City Councillors are looking at a busy night, including votes on a couple of potentially controversial issues:

An agreement to supply water to Lantzville which a former mayor of that community wants to see put to a referendum, and an application from Telus for a new cell tower in the Hammond Bay area which has been the focus of community opposition.

They’ll also get an update on the Colliery Dams at their regular Monday meeting. The report indicates the cost of engineering studies has risen to nearly half a million dollars.
