Vancouver Coastal Health is sending out a message to parents and the message is “don’t wait, vaccinate”.
Medical Health Officer Dr. Paul Martiquet explains.
VCH says The Public Health Agency of Canada is asking parents with kids going to kindergarten in September to have their children immunized right now.
Children who got their infant shots will now need two more shots to protect themselves against the likes of the Measle, Mumps and the chicken pox.
Martiquet says right now is a good time to get the shots. If they do it now, parents won’t have to wait until the last minute before school starts and their kids will be protected if they are travelling for a  summer vacation.
