Nanaimo Search and Rescue was the busiest SAR organization in the province last month.
That’s according to member Richard Romer who was asking Nanaimo City Council to consider leasing the organization a piece of land at the old reservoir site on Nanaimo Lakes Road where they could build a new building.
Romer says they’ve grown out of their old building and armed with a pledge of one million dollars from a local family to construct a new building they need to find some land…..
The request to lease the land is set to work its way through City staff before coming back to council.
