A Sunshine Coast student is getting a very unique scholarship.
The Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation has chosen Elphinstone grade 12 student Clare Lyle as one of 30 Loran Scholars for 2014.
The scholarship is worth some 80-thousand dollars and includes tuition, housing, mentorship programs and other support.
The Foundation’s Director of Programs and Opertations, Heather Spratt, says they want to help develop community leaders and keep their talent in Canada.
And she says Lyle is well on the way.
Lyle was selected from an initial list of 35-hundred applicants after a final set of interviews on the weekend in Toronto.
