Some members of Nanaimo City Council wanted to make sure the public understands and has a chance to comment on the pay that an acting mayor is in line to get if a new policy is eventually put into effect.
Councillor Bill Yoachim says he wants to make sure the public understands the pay raise is warranted and he says the reasons why an acting mayor is having to put in so much time should be clear too.
Councillor Bill Bestwick says, in effect, council is beating a dead horse, as the policy has been unanimously approved and council should move on.
