White Nose Syndrome moving faster than anticipated

Officials are asking anyone who comes into contact with a dead bat to contact the “Got Bats?” program.
Or, on the Sunshine Coast, you can call the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Project.
Michelle Evelyn says a deadly fungal disease is spreading across the continent and it wasn’t expected here for another decade.
However, White Nose Syndrome was recently found in a dead bat near Seattle…..

She says there’s a two week window, starting now, where the bats are coming out of hibernation and the bats are now returning to their summer homes on the Coast.
These are the bats that would be good indicators of whether or not the fungal disease is coming out way.
