Attempted robbery at Nanaimo pharmacy

Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who attempted to rob the Outreach Pharmacy on Victoria Road.
Police say around 1:30 yesterday (Sun) afternoon they were called to a panic alarm at the pharmacy.
When they got there, officers were told the suspect had fled on foot, but a police dog was unable to pick up a scent.

A witness told investigators, the man, who was 25 to 30 years old and about one hundred and 70 pounds, had entered the pharmacy, jumped the counter, said he had a knife and demanded drugs and cash.

The suspect ran out the door empty handed but was captured on video surveillance.
