Cold Shelter Done for the Season

The Emergency Cold Weather Shelter for the Sunshine Coast is shutting down operations for the season tomorrow. (March 31st)

Currently, they’re negotiating with BC Housing to hire an outreach worker, until they reopen in November.
Nora Jessome, a coordinator for the shelter says an outreach worker would help in many ways.
Jessome says due to extra funding this year, the shelter was opened seven days a week. But depending on circumstances, the funding changes every year and could be different next year.
