The Spirit of British Columbia and Spirit of Vancouver Islands ferries are set to receive some upgrades.
BC Ferries V-P of Engineering Mark Wilson says the vessels will undergo a conversion to be able to use liquefied natural gas (LNG).
He notes the company has finished upgrading other ships in their fleet this year.
AÂ ship repair yard out of Poland has been awarded the contract to perform the upgrades.
