The City of Nanaimo is in the middle of a core review.
Councillor Ian Thorpe says to accomodate that activity some communication was lost with staff……
Nine portfolios have been created each dealing with a specific area of city operations.
One councillor will be in charge of each for a 3 month period and then they’ll rotate to another one.
Thorpe says the portfolio system will be in place throughout the balance of the core review and then, depending on how it works, it may be extended after that.
