“Heritage Afloat” is the theme of this year’s Heritage Week in BC. Nanaimo’s Heritage and Culture Planner Chris Sholberg says they’ll be recognizing the city’s rich marine history at their annual summit on Wednesday. There are a few famous shipwrecks around Nanaimo. Sholberg says local historian Parker Williams will be sharing what he knows about them.

Following the presentation, local culture and heritage groups will meet for a roundtable discussion to share information about the work they’ve been doing. The public in invited to the Heritage Summit for free on Wednesday at the Nanaimo Museum from 7:00pm-9:00pm.
