9 different hockey teams from around the province and the Yukon Territories traveled to the Sunshine Coast over the weekend for the Midget Tier 3 BC Championship.
It was the first time that that the Sunshine Coast has seen this tournament being hosted here since 1992.
Brenda Rowe is the chair of the organizing committee for the the tournament and she says this event is very beneficial for the local community.
The tournament began on Sunday and will wrap up on Thursday with the championship game set for 11am.
