Police seek suspect in attempted abduction

RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man that attempted to abduct a 15 year old girl.

The incident happened in the parking lot of the girls’ home on Boundary Avenue between 11 and 11:30 last Saturday night.

The victim told police she was taking out the garbage from her apartment when a man appeared from the side of the building. walked up behind her, put his hand on her shoulder, and while pushing her told her to start walking.

The girl, fearing for her safety did what he asked for a short time, but eventually she ran away, jumped a fence and ran to the front door of a home on Meredith where she got the attention of the homeowner.

The suspect is a First Nations man, about 6 ft. 2 to 6 ft. 4 with a “solid” build, with black hair, and long bangs.

He was wearing a red hoodie, jeans with a chain from the hip pocket to the front loop and a black mask that concealed the lower half of his face.
