Today marks the start of this year’s Wounded Warrior Run.

Participants will run about 600 km from Port Hardy to Victoria to raise awareness and dispel the stigmas surrounding PTSD and other mental health issues.

Spokesperson Allan Kobayashi says everyone deal with their own traumas differently – and this event is a great outlet to bring that up…

Kobayashi says the biggest theme coming out of the run is humans connecting with humans – and helping each other out.Runners are expected to finish the run in Victoria on February 28th.

They’ll be coming through Nanaimo and the Cowichan Valley late this week and into the weekend.
