According to Howe Sound, 61 operators and 6 tradespeople lost their jobs.
But it could have been much worse.
The Mayor of Gibsons, the community hardest hit, is Wayne Rowe….
Rowe says, in the end, 61 operators and half a dozen tradespeople lost their jobs and that’s being felt in his community…..

Crystal Cox is with the Open Door Group, a contractor for Work BC that tries to help the unemployed get back to work….
The final third have had their files closed out and Cox says that could be because they moved out of the area or found employment.
