“Redneck Ruckus” fireworks cause commotion in Nanaimo
Nanaimo RCMP say a man who set off fireworks in the middle of the day was surprised when numerous police officers showed up.
Just before 1:00pm on Monday, a resident reported hearing what sounded like rapid gun fire in the south end of Haliburton St.
Given the time of the day and caller’s persistence, multiple police officers went to check it out.
That’s when they ran into a man who had been setting off fireworks. He showed them a box of 16 spent fireworks, by the name of Redneck Ruckus.
He got a stern lecture about the consequences his actions.
