Immunization regulation aims to capture missed students

There are a handful of students each year who do not get immunized in the Sunshine Coast School District because they do not have their parents consent.
Board Chair Betty Baxter says it’s not because parents did not want to give it, but rather because the consent form was forgotten or misplaced.
So Baxter says the District is proposing to add a student health regulation…..
A draft regulation is being circulated and Baxter says they have recieved lots of feedback from parents about the proposal.
Much of that feedback was concern that the district was encroaching on parent’s rights so Baxter says the regulation will be tweaked a bit so it is clearer.
The regulation will be headed to the February 9th Board meeting for approval.
