Robbery suspect quickly nabbed by Nanaimo RCMP

Nanaimo RCMP say they have a prolific offender in custody, after a local convenience store was robbed just after 4:30 am on Saturday.

The 32-year-old man, wearing a mask and wielding a knife, allegedly made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Shell Payless Gas Service Station on Bowen Rd.

RCMP brought in Boomer, the police dog, to track the suspect and he led them to a nearby apartment building.

Within 13 minutes of the crime being reported, RCMP had a suspect in custody.

He appeared in court on Monday to face robbery charges.
