Nanaimo RCMP say one man has been remanded into custody for a violent assault and another has been sentenced to significant jail time for committing a robbery with a firearm.
Constable Gary O’Brien says 33-year-old Kevin Michael Wiebe has been formally charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm, after a woman was assaulted in late December. He has been remanded into custody, and will be appearing in court on February 23rd.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Michael William Eadie has been sentenced to 715 days in jail, after an armed robbery at an ATM outside the TD Bank at Port Place Mall on January 6th.
