Oceanside RCMP think they’ve found the driver and vehicle involved in an incident where a pedestrian was fatally injured while walking along the side of the road.
An 80-year-old woman was found along Roberton Boulevard last Wednesday, suffering from serious head trauma. She later died in hospital.
RCMP say their investigation led to a commercial truck and operator. They believe the driver was unaware a piece of equipment was sticking out a considerable distance from the side of the truck, which ultimately struck the victim.
Police say speed and alcohol weren’t factors, and the driver is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
