The Wounded Warrior Run BC starts this weekend.
The 5 runners will leave Port Hardy early Sunday morning on their way to Victoria.
One of the organizers, Dan Bodden, says they’ll be collecting donations along the route. The money raised will support the Wounded Warrior Project, a which works with wounded veterans of the post 9-11 military actions, with a special focus on helping them deal with mental health issues such as PTSD and Operational Stress Injuries.
They’re planning to pass through Parksville and Qualicum Beach and Nanaimo on the afternoon of Wednesday the 19th, and spend the night in the city before continuing south.
