A new women’s organization in Sechelt handed out $2,400 to a local charity on Monday night.
The inaugural meeting of the 100+ Plus Women Who Care was held with the proceeds going to the police-based Victim Services.
Sechelt Councillor Darnelda Seigers is a founding member of the organization, which has already signed up 30 women.
At the next meeting, Seigers says the charity will come back to explain what they did with the money.
