Parksville CoC and Council go right to source to take pulse of local businesses

The Parksville Chamber of Commerce and City Council teamed up this week for a Business Walk, visiting 62 local business to check in and see how they’re doing.

Chamber Executive Director Kim Burden says it’s an idea he got from the Okanagan Valley Chambers, which do the same on a much larger scale.

He says it also ties into the City’s economic development strategy.

Burden says the easiest target for future economic development is helping existing business. And, he says they heard from most that they’re doing well, despite a perceived economic downturn.

The Chamber is going to take what they learned and use it to guide future efforts to improve Parksville’s business climate. They’re also looking to make it a regular event.
