The City of Nanaimo is supporting the Nanaimo Port Authority in issuing a Request for Proposal for a foot passenger ferry service between Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver.
City Manager Tracy Samra says they’re taking a collaborative approach.
Samra says the project is definitely a priority for Nanaimo, and council’s willingness to support the RFP made that clear.
Samra says they’re hoping to find an operator who can get the service up and running by the end of next year, using Nanaimo’s Cruise Ship Terminal as a home base.
