Oceanside RCMP are recommending two counts of Attempted Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault against the man who allegedly stabbed members of his family on November 18th in Qualicum Beach.
Police found two elderly victims with severe injuries on the night of the 18th, and the suspect had a self-inflicted, life threatening stab wound.
46-year-old Qualicum Beach resident Stephen Rivington has been released from hospital and is being held in custody awaiting trial.
A 76-year-old man has been released from hospital, while a 72-year-old woman remains in hospital suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
